Join us in support of our first Annual Polar Plunge for our Unified Program!!! Beginning January 15, we will have our Polar Plunge Coin War... Students can cast their votes in the cafeteria for who they would like to take the plunge here at school by placing coins in their jar. All money raised will go towards our HMS Friends and Family Polar Plunge Team!!! Also, join some of our brave Staffulty Members who are taking the plunge for real on February 17 at Isle of Palms.
For a $2 donation on Friday, January 12 students will be allowed to wear Pajama Pants!! Help support our Renaissance program and show off your coziest Pajama Pants!!!

Due to forecasts for continued severe weather resulting in area power outages, and concerns regarding impacts on roads and facilities throughout the evening, Berkeley County School District (BCSD) schools and offices will operate on a 2-hour weather delay on Wednesday, January 10.
There will be no before school care programs, but after school programs and athletics will resume normal operations on Wednesday.
Bus riders will report to bus stops two hours later than their regularly scheduled time. Information concerning school start times and bell schedules when operating on a 2-hour weather delay is available on the BCSD website here: https://www.bcsdschools.net/o/bcsd/page/school-bell-schedules.
District officials are continuing to work closely with the Berkeley County Emergency Management Department, local power providers, and law enforcement to monitor the weather and potential impact on the county. Officials are also receiving regular updates from the National Weather Service.
As safety and security is our number one priority, all decisions are made with the safety of students, staff, and families in mind.
Due to the potential for severe weather on Tuesday, January 9, Berkeley County School District (BCSD) announced that students will learn from home and complete eLearning Day assignments on Tuesday. All schools and offices will be closed Tuesday. Schools and offices will resume normal operations on Wednesday, January 10.

Parents of Rising 9th Graders save the date for a Virtual IGP Parent Night on January 18th at 5:30pm. All 8th graders will need to complete an IGP with a School Counselor before April 1st. Congratulations to Tucker Cromer for winning the HMS Spelling Bee today!!! 2nd Place went to Colton Grooms and 3rd Place was Leilynn Palmatier with Ricardo De Castro being our Alternate. The top 3 spellers from each school will compete for the title of BCSD Spelling Champion in January!! Congratulations to all of our top spellers who did an AMAZING job today!! We are so proud of you all!! We cannot wait to see these students compete again in January!!
