Get ready to join your student on a reading adventure with Beanstack, a platform designed to make reading fun! Beanstack uses competition, recognition, and proven gamification principles to motivate students to read and develop a life-long love of reading. Whether your student chooses fiction, nonfiction, graphic novels, or articles online, any and all reading counts in Beanstack! By tracking their daily reading, your student will begin to build healthy reading habits and become a more confident reader.
When students log their reading via Beanstack’s web or mobile app, they:
● Earn digital badges as they reach milestones
● Compete on leaderboards and build streaks for reading every day
● Track everything they read on their virtual bookshelf
● For a glimpse of what your students will experience with Beanstack, click here!
Joining Beanstack is quick and easy:
● At school: Your student can access Beanstack directly through their device using Classlink log in on their chromebooks.
● At home: You as a parent or your student can download the Beanstack mobile app on the iOS App Store or Google Play Store. Parents can log reading on app or return the reading log.

Do you want to volunteer at DFE or want to chaperone on a field trip this year? Plan ahead and compete your yearly volunteer clearance form now!
It is a TWO step process.
Step ONE, participants must visit the following website and fill out the interest form. https://bcsdextranet.bcsdschools.net/volunteers/
Step TWO, watch your email inbox for an email from the school district with a link to provide additional information authorizing them to conduct your background check.
Once both processes have been completed, your contact information will be added to a list of volunteers and you’ll begin receiving emails about volunteer opportunities.

Gifted and Talented Nominations are open until September 15, 2025. Parents and teachers are able to nominate students who they feel should be tested for the program.
